Think I might want to trade out my subs

    Hello all,
I am new to the forum. I had this thread running over at Ecoustics, but their board keeps deleting my account and there are a few to many people over there for my liking.

Ok, I am pretty sure I am going to sell/trade off my RF T2 12's and get something more clarity oriented. I am not really to concerned with price, but more with having that good tight punchy base of an 8 but with the depth and mass air flow of a 12.

Check out my profile for specs on what I am currently running

I have peronally owned a bunch of 10's but I am very limited on 12's The only brands of 12 I have owned are MTX 9500, Eclipse TI and Now the RF T2's I am currently using. All of which have been used in well built enclosures and properly amped and wired (well with the exception of the Fosgates).

I have a very deep seated hatred for JL due to a personal issue with one of their regional managers. So sadly they are absolutely out of the running.

Here are the main few I have never heard in 12" that I am interested in:
    Infinity VQ
    Image Dynamics Q or Max
    Diamond Audio TDX or D9
    TC Sound LMS 4000
    RE SE

I am not trying to start a flame war over what subs are the end all best. More just trying to find out specific characteristics of each sub theat set them apart from the next. If it is not too much trouble would you all be willing to focus on your own personal experience with any of the following brands. This is more due to the fact that I can not find a shop in my area who has any of these brands available so I do not have the ability to hear them for my self. Or if any of you live in the seattle area and have or know of a set wired and ready, hit me up and we can figure out a way to meet up.

    Thanks again,

    -Me-

Good question, but I have been out of the industry for years, so..........

The brands you have mentioned are of good quality. I am sure that given the right box for your application, each of them would do an outstanding job. I dont look to much at names so much . Like i tell EVERYONE, LET YOUR EARS DECIDE!!!!!!!!!!!

Now with that said, My most recent installs are limited, but so far i have found Fusion to be very reliable and versatile in the SQ dept. Excellent low end extension in less than perfect box, great power handling, and make the music sound like music.

Might I also suggest SoundStream. AALWAYS a winner

Orion also had some subs out that I liked, But, i will always be partial to them, been with them since the beginning!!!!

Bottom line, the box will ultimately dicatate your sound, 30 dollar pyramids cvan kick ass and blow your head off in the right box, I have done it...........

If you have t2's they shouldn't be in sealed boxes. If you look in the instructions it tells you they don't suggest a sealed box. That's why they might sound off to you. Try ported boxes before giving up on them. They'll sound a hell of a lot better. Do you have them in a shared 3ft cu or 3 ft cu a piece? They sugguest 2.25 ft cu for each sub tuned to 40hz. I see most people tune them around 35 hz.
