the whole ohm deal

    alright ive been a member 4 a while jus havent looged in. Welli can say i know some what of car audio i was jus wondering the whole ohm thing well i have 2 kicker l5 10's 4 voice coiland i was looking at some amps the whole 900x2 at 2 ohms was jus confusing so if some 1 can put it in easier terms it would help me out alot

    ok ok the kickers are DVC at 4 ohms each voice coil??

    you have choices of either a final load of 1, 4, or 16 ohms mono

    for stereo you have a choice of either 2 or 8 ohms

    i have one of those subs.it rocks!

    so what coils do you have?duel 4's or 2's.i know you said you have 4 coils but,i'm not sure if you meant duel 4's or what.

    that means the sub has 2 voicecoils and each coil has an impedance of 4 ohms

    ^^yes what he said^^.also you wrote 900x2.the 900 is peak watts per sub,rms(contiuous)is 450watts.

    i was giving mine around 220 watts rms and it had a ton of output,but it has to be in the right box.

    the box is the most important part of your sub stage.

    the box doesn't matter...as long as the box has 5 sides it will sound awesome....the open side will allow the sub to breath properly and make more sound

    so if i were 2 get a mono amp wat would be the best way 2 wire it

    depends on the amp

    you can either use a mono amp or bridge a stereo amp

    that amp is overrated...at 1 ohm it probably puts out around 600 watts

    450x2 @2omh

    900X1 @1 ohm

    or wat do i look 4 2 power my tens
    wats the whole x1 x2 deal that **** bugging me

    you could use a sundown SAE-1000, i think that ill push the 2 10s really nice, youll be giving em bout 500-550 per sub

    with my box.220 was pushing my 10 really nice.350 was beating the **** out of it,but it took it just fine.

    to get the most power out of what ever amp you get.a 1ohm load will do it.thats all the +'s wired together and all the -'s wired together.
