I love working at Adire. Dan decided to have friends and family over to our shop and show the LOTR trilogy on consecutive nights. So we took the warehouse, cleared off one of the walls, and grabbed different equipment laying around. We have the Hurricane's for the left and right channels, a pair of Kosala's as the center, and our sealed Kit 281's for surrounds. For subs we have a sealed Tumult with a 1 kilowatt amp, two Deava's, and one of CSS's sonosubs. And that is on top of the Maelstrom's in each of the Hurricane's. Plus the screens as huge as the sound. Dan's also grabbing the popcorn machine from his church. It is definitely the ultimate Theater. Steven Kephart Adire Audio
You'll need to paint the wall in some of that reflective material they use in the projection screens - otherwise the picture quality won't be so good. Next, you'll have to create some tiered seating in that warehouse. There also needs to be some nice couches to fit everyone! Also, the room needs to be deadened somewhat - it's much too live of a room to have as a theatre... line the side walls with curtains or something... hahaha In all seriousness, I hope you guys have a lot of fun!
I actually mentioned to Dan that I should go out and grab some pallets, and stack them to produce tiered seating. But there were supposed to be a good number of people there, so that wasn't an option. Otherwise we could grab those leather couches in the offices/reception area. Those things are SOOO comfy. At night, the drywall actually works pretty good for the picture. And you are right that the room is too "live". But we use what we have to work with. And that is a better sound system than a lot of the movie theaters. It's good to see you actually practicing your major though. B) Steven Kephart Adire Audio
