Hey everyone. I have 3 12" Sony Xplodes and a 1200 watt ultimate amp. One day i noticed my system was hitting like half as loud as it should be but when i would hit a bump it would kick back in. So i tighted all my cords and made sure they had good connection but now its still half as loud and when i hit a bump it stays the same. HELP ME PLEASE!!!
I don't know if this will help you, But my Kenwood in my F150 rubs against the inside of the dash causing the sub outs to be pressed against the rear of the chamber for the HU. this caused a loose solder joint because the rca outs are rigid, and it has the same effect. the subs will play fine, then kick in twice as loud every so often.. it's really annoying to keep having to reset the controls, too! Use a multimeter to check the output voltage coming from both channels of the HU. (easier to do from the rca's at the amp.) disconnect the rca's and see if one channel outputs more than the other (be careful not to "short" across both terminals). If it's the same, then I'd suspect that either the amp has blown a channel, or you have a loose connection to one of the subs, or maybe a sub that's dunzo. If the voltage is different, then I'd dislodge the HU and check the sub outs, if good matching voltage there, then I'd suspect bad rca cables. Try these and get back to us..
