My personal experience with JBL has been good. My first woofer in my truck was an 8-inch woofer in a ported box. Its in my utility room and its still OK

JBL is good...but I wouldn't classify them into the Focal, Audison, Morel, Zapco class.

I would say focal and rainbow are above JBL but on par with MTX without a problem.

JBL has a long time reputation for making a quailty product. Would I personally rank them up their with the best? Yes. Reason is simple, they do one thing, and do it very well. From the pro audio to the car, they have always done a great job. Years ago i was at a toss up over a set of Polk audios and JBL home speakers, the Polks won simply cause of the fact they were slightly less in price. I Would not hesitate to reccomend a JBL speaker as a quailty driver. But the same rules apply here as with all drivers, everyone hears a little different, or at least the interpitation of what they hear is influenced by many factors. so many will say that JBL is NOT a high end driver, but that is OK too. Cause i personally dont like Infinity....

    Just my 2 cents

I build a lot of home audio equipment, and a little bit of mobile, and I use an extensive amount of jbl products for several reasons, one being that I don't have to replace them.

jbl is not high-end. thier reasonable pricing reflects that. But they are one of the few companies that (in my honest opinion) still makes a high quality product for a reasonable price. Thier stuff is tough, dependable and does exactly what they advertise it to do: it works.

I like thier subs, I like thier mids and tweets, and I LOVE thier amps.

    that is my two cents.
