i have 2 MTX thunder 3000 subs that thump pretty hard. will this cause nuts bolts, etc to rattle loose in my truck? and ive heard having an amp and subs can pull so much power, you can damage your engine and get bad gas mileage. is this true? thanks

Thunder 3000??... I don't think I've ever heard of that series?..

And yeah, it could be nuts and bolts coming loose.. I've actually watched tag bolts unscrew while some had their system running.. so no doubt it could happen..

an everyday system shaking your car apart, na aint gonna happen. Think about all the vibrations that you get just from driving the car, potholes, railroad tracks, uneven asphalt, every bump you go over causes a vibration. Not to mention the vibes from the drivetrain. Now if you had a competition system that was hitting over 160 db that might be adifferent story, but those cars are made for competition and not everyday driving, they have plexigalass and sometimes the doors are welded shut. But running your amps into low impedences 1 ohm or lower can put extra stress on your alternator.

Yeah, actually, an "everyday" system can do some damage to a car.. I've seen it with my own eyes... Rearview mirrors falling off, and constant vibrations causing nuts and bolts to turn out, and even windows cracking.. hell I broke the seal on an Eclipse moon roof with my 2 tens... jus some things I've actually witnessed.. But no, it won't damage things like doors or anything that a comp system would.. But tha constant vibration can be tha cause of many small damages..

The only damage that I've had happen from my system is it actually broke the metal in half on my rear view mirror, Broke the latch for the lift gate, and broke the luggage rack on the roof, and broke the dash. that's about it though haha

my friend robin runs 2 IA 21's and has had his roof rip in the front center of the windshield. as well as frankie rio, he had to seal his sunroof in due to the roof tearing apart too.

my friend devin a.k.a gmonk has had the metal on his van doors rip also, but these are systems with double and triple digit power ratings. 7800, 18,000 and 28,800 watts. RMS!

now on an everyday set up with around 500 to 1500 watts i dont see a whole lot of metal damage happening very quickly.
