Hi guys, newb here, but I've got 2 questions. So I have 2 JL 12"w3's powered by a 2 channel 800 watt (400x2 but bridged). I built a ported box according to the jl specs and the thing sounds great. It goes much lower than it did in the sealed box i bought it in. It is a fairly large box though. I drive a 2001 acura mdx and it has a 3rd row of seats that fold flat that the box sits on. Right now the subs are just firing at the hatch and I'm wondering if i take out the 3rd row and put box facing the ceiling, will i get a signicant loss in bass, will it help or will it not really matter?
Second question, I'm looking to upgrade my subs because I'm putting in all new door speakers and tweeters. I would like to upgrade to the 12"w6's and i have heard of people only running 325watts rms to those and according to the owners they sound great. So if I were to just drop in w6's into where my w3's are without upgrading the amp, would i hear any improvement in the sound quality/amount of bass?
Sorry for the ignorance and thanks in advance guys.

Bump. Also does anyone have an opinion of the sundown SA-15? can't decided if I want that or the 12w6.

key thing too do is experiment with locations of the subs...all acoustic enviorments are differrent, as are listening preferences...

    as for the sundowns...no chlue....

the thing about purchasing new subs is that if u upgrade to w6's and put less watts to them and they have worse sensitivity and all that.. then u would be better off with the w3's... just think of it like this...not sure what a w3 is rated at but if its 300rms.. and u put 325rms to it. it will be louder then a w6 rated at 600 watts with 325rms going to it...
