well i'm not no idiot...so this is a real brain twister. anyways, i have the pdx models from alpine, the 4.150, and the 1.1000, their top model pdx, props to alpine ;) anyhow, the 4.150 has run fine for the 2 weeks ive had it, got my 1.1000 today, wired it up. checked power, checked voltages, turned car on made sure it booted. rewired sub to 4 ohms (i had it at 1 ohm for the kenwood amp i had on it)

anyhow...so i had power, evrything fit, so i mounted the amp. than wired the sub to the amp, went to do some tuning assuming it would play...than i heard no kicks from the sub at all, i checked the trunk, i think i felt a very slight vibration, but i'm not entirly sure it could very easily of been the bass coming down from the speakers above i felt. it was very slight, anyhow, i checked the deck to make sure i didnt disable the sub output, than i checked the pick up frequences, tuned them properly, still nothing.

sub's enabled on deck, powers up, rca's are 100% possative of a connection. i just ran them the other day. the only thing that i can think of is maybe its set up to wire the 2 channel opions they have to run bridged for some reason, the diagram i read on the spread sheet that came with the amp showing single sub, showed it hooked up to channel 1. it's a single channel amp, it's just for options and what not.

anyhow, idk. thoughts? heres some pictures, i'm going to trouble shoot it tomorrow, i'll check if anyone threw out any ideas after i get off work tomorrow.

all class D sub amps come with 2 sets of speaker (+ and -) doesn't matter how you wired it and what you did was perfectly fine.

looks like you have it hooked up properly... do you think it may be a defective unit? what you may want to do is disconnect your 4 channel amp, use the wires from the 4 channel to the mono amp, even switch RCA's as well. Hell, it may even be a preout problem with your deck.

just switch all the wiring including the RCA from your 4 channel to your sub amp and see. lets rule out the amp being a problem first.

it'll be the rca's before it's the deck, the deck was fine before i switched my rca's, they were from ebay so who knows, I was unable to get a signal to the amp with the 4 channel rca probes, and in face, the white sleave for the input on the 1.1000 popped off, to my dismay :( but it apears to be a double wammy, because in the same way i was unable to produce a signal from either of the 2 leads for the sub signal into the 4 channel amp, am i wrong in assuming they're backwards compatable just as the speaker channels will power the sub amp, the sub amp pre outs will send enough signal to power the other unit? it may appear ive been banged from both ends.

in either case, i was completely unable to get this amp to produce a signal yet, it's quite frustrating :( especily considering the fact that I might have to tear these rca's back out, for one they're mighty expensive, for 2...massive pain in the arse to tear down such a thing >_< sigh

the very odd thing is though, the amp its self, did get hot. i'm not sure if it was transfered heat from the unit stacked under it, but as far as i know the 4 channel amp never got hot before, so it appears to think it's working...it's most likely drawing power in some shape or form :-\

I tested the rca's for voltage, but was unable to find anything, but i couldn't get a read from any of the other 4 channels either, so that doesn't narrow down weather they're dead or not, but for a 100% certainty they're is not a signle ounce of voltage coming out of the amp speaker out

yeah seems the rca's are junk, i'm returning them mofo's but i think the amp was also DOA, idk i havn't had much time, i installed my front door speakers today, thats about all I had time for >_> before it got dark that is, i needed to pull the old rca's but that was at least another hour, and i had been working stright from work, into working on my car. my back was killing me :(

I have back problems too. i'm not really looking forward to setting up my benz, my back always gives me problems. lol

why would it take you another hour to pull out the RCA's?

well the cars finished...i need to tear off all the corner panneling, the deck, the dash, the back seat needs to come out...it's just an undertaking :( quit a nucence. massive pain in the balls if you would. than i have to run the new ones, put the panneliing back in, and make sure they're all marked properly and what nots lol thats what i liked about the new ones, they were marked, into the chords heads them selves, was nice.

it turned out to be the sub was completly obliterated by the last amp it was on, the amp was in perfect working order and sending a signal, the sub just didn't budge because it was that that dead that the coils had been destroyed some how..still haven't figured out how that happened :|
