I'm building a sub floor for two Infinityperfect 10.1's in a FJcruiser, internal dimensions 40.5x27x6 ,3.79 cu ft.it will be 3/4 mdf.after completion the box will be finished with bed liner. The floor must remain usable people, beer, groceries motorcycle parts more beer. The drivers will be protected.Should I divide the box with a brace down the middle, and where should I position the drivers and ports

Any internal bracing you can do will help to eliminate box resonance, and help the box support all the beer you will be putting on it. Personally, i would install the vents and the drivers as far to the rear as possible. This will help eliminate any phasing issues in the cabin.

Thanks Viking.I will brace front to rear ,ports close to the divider and drivers centre to each half at the rear.I will have to get some serious grill covers, should I actually divide the box front to rear or just brace it.In other words one box with braces or one box divided internally

I will be running one D200 bridged mono to each 10,240 rms per 10, 4 ohm load, not going with out board eq or x-over,I got a 9855 Alpine with all the bells and whistles. Why did you get out of car audio?

Sounds like you will have very nice system!!!!

I got out of car audio for a variety of reasons.....6 day work weeks, an opportunity to buy 15 acres for one hulluva price in another state, and I was getting burned out on it.

Built my box this weekend,3.3 cu ft ,two 4 "ports 6" long=48hz.This box sits on the floor of the FJ,drivers and ports fire up,what happens if I stretch grill cloth over the ports, can I fake out the ports and make them think they are longer and may drop a few hertz

You can cover the ports with grille clothe, or even ozite, but you are correct in that it will change the tuning, lower as you stated. Try it and see how sounds first without any covering, then again with them covered....

BTW, post pics of your install!!!
