G3n3R@1, I'm doing a little hijacking here cuz i don't want your thread to be tucked away if i make a new one.

Question: Azn, do you think you can make a small ported box for 2 12" L7's for a '03 mustang mach 1 so it will really pound? I gotta get the measurements of the trunk space for you.

He a new guy on the forums and he wasn't approved yet. so I'm asking you for him. Thanks man.

He PM'ed me...It would be hard but with enough space it can be done.

G3...for sub placement there I would downfire

In almost every case, I like to face the woofer to the rear of the vehicle. In most situations the port needs to be on the same board as the woofer.

i was thinking it may be tough but if anybody can do it. you would be the person. He (mkb116) told me if you couldn't do it ported then he's willing to go sealed as well. I know you don't like sealed boxes...

really Ranger? even if the woofer is firing up? I've seen a lot of boxes with the port firing to the rear and the sub firing upward. Azn even designed a box for me that way. Its for an SUV, i don't know if that would make a difference.

i appreciate the help guys but im an idiot. well my friend is. he told me it was a volkswagen and how the seats were but hes not the one that owns it. so i go over to the guys house to check it out and its a chevy van but rear engine of course. anyways given how the sub is technically walled in front and back but not on the sides what should I do?

here i made some more lovely portraits strutting my paint skillz.

and heres a side view of the seat, the box thats goin in is only gonna be roughly 2 cubes for two tens so space isn't an issue, the top and front part of the seat is roughly 15"x15"

basically cccullen there isn't a preset way that is necessarily the loudest, with what i've seen mostly in vans and SUVs are sub up port back or sub back and port driver or passenger side. but port back and sub back will still work in those environments. each setting will have its positives.

exactly, really the only way to know for sure is to try as many different box orientations as possible and mess around with the placement of the box.

well once my box is finished it's gonna stay there for a while. I'm sure it will pound.
