the class d amps are made just for subs. They usually have a very limited frequeny range. A/b amps are full range and can run full range speakers or subs. 150$ for a sub amp is pretty limiting, did you have any brands that you like? Just stay away from Sony or audiobahn. Check out some websites, woofersetc.com, sounddomain.com, ikesound.com. You should be able to find something on one of those sites.
yeah right now I have a Sony 1600 class D and i bought it a few years back when I did not know any better so eh it work for the time but I know its just going to die soon. Want to go ahead and start searching for a new amp. Yeah looks like im going to have to spend at least 200 dollars to get a good amp. Found a phoenix gold octane, kenwood, and an alpine v-power amp that will supply what I need for around 185-200 dollars. Good news is I have a little time to save up the extra cash as I have a working amp at the moment.
I am looking for an amp to power my Inifinty 12" kappa perfect. It has a single voice coil and wants 400 watts RMS. First of all what is the difference between the Class "D" monoamps compared to the A/B 2 channel amps that can be bridged. Not sure which way to go and I don't really understand the difference to make a choice. Price range is under 150 dollars if possible. Looking for sounds quality over loudness if that makes a difference in amps.
