I don't think this is supposed to work, but I'll ask anyways. My friend, who is pretty much a noob like me, just bought a 15" interior neon and it is hooked up to the ground and battery wires of his amp. It works but will it mess up, or the better question, how is it working?
It works cause it is is basically hooked up to the battery in a direct kind of way... now, what do you mean by "mess up' ?
like will they mess up eventually like...i dunno what its called in neons but like "blow" or bust or w/e the bulb
If they are hooked up to a 12 volt source, they will be fine....neon lights do not require much in the way current, and they are very forgiving to voltage fluctuations.....thanks to the High voltage design...... they should be fine, just be sure they are on a fused circuit....shorted wres of such a small gauge WILL NOT blow a big fuse up under the hood for the power wire!!!! makes for a nice fire hazard....of course, a car on fire is always cool to watch!!!!!!!
