you should have resined the inside of the box after you glued the box together.

Wood glue and varnish don't make for a strong joint at all.

Also just painting fiberglass resin on the inside of the port does the same job as the varnish.

ohh ok thnxx..ill have to do it for the next box which i will buy a lot more resin and catalyst...right now i havea few leaks so im gonna wrap the whole box in duct tape...ill post pics in a couple...also when inverting subs...do they bottom out frequently?? cuz im heaaring a strange sound even though its pounding reaaaaly hard lol

also this box doesnt have the best cuts thats why it has the leaks so hopefully for the next one i can get a table saw...and another thing....yesterday someone offered me 2 12" xsite subs for the stetsom amp i have which im not using at the moment do u guys think i should go through with the trade??

bottoming out would be less likely with down firing as gravity helps.

What you are hearing is just mechanical noise from the soft parts moving.

If you have leaks just paint the seams with resin and it should seal em up perfectly

well i read this a little too late lol anyways im gonna use the subs as my daily subs ...also is there a big probability to blow a sub when playing under tuning??

as long as the sub is behaving normally and doesnt sound distorted you should be fine.

playing under tuning is fine...how low under tuning is different. I can play down to 30hz easily with my 40Hz tuned box. SSF is set around 250-30Hz to be safe
