    Hi everyone,

Can somebody give me some advice on buying a speaker set for my Opel (Vauxhall) Astra G. I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on it, but I want a set that sounds better than the stock speakers.

My headunit is a Alpine CDE-102ri.
The music I listen to is 90% rock oriented and therefore I think I don't need a very big subwoofer, if I need one at all.
Is a external amplifier a must? or more of a luxury?
I want to use all of the standard speaker mounts.

    Please help, :)
    Cheers

what size speakers does your car take? I would suggest amps, the sound will be a lot better but you could just buy some component speakers and see if you like the sound before deciding to add an amp...

I'm not completely sure on the size, but I've read that some guys put 6" speakers in the doors. So I think that's the size.

Is there any brand in particular that's suitable with Alpine? or is that just taste?

even if you listen to rock id still put a sub, even if small, for a little bit of kick, personnally i have pioneer DEH head unit and db drive platinum series for my speaker, i usually listen to alternative rock and it sounds amazing
