I'm gonna be hooking up my JBL 600.1 this weekend to my 2 12 Type E's. I expect to blow them, since the JBL puts a little more power to them then they would like. Oh well, I guess I'll have to order a couple of ED 12Ks.
As long as youre feeding them some clean unclipped power youll be just fine with that setup. If you want some E12k's why not just sell youe alpines and put that money twards the E's instead of trying to deliberatly your alpines? B)
well to tell you the truth, in my 7 years of car audio, I've never once blew a sub. I just want to do it to see what it's like.
if you want to have fun blowing a sub there is nothing better than 120v AC @ 60hz
what about plugging the sub into a wall socket? about the same effect?
what about plugging the sub into a wall socket? about the same effect?
ummm 120v AC @ 60hz IS a wall socket
I think I'm gonna do it to one of my W4s instead. I'm not gonna start a fire or anything, right? If so I think I'm going to have to do it in the garage.
you will blow a Breaker before you start a fire Assuming your Sub is 4ohm 120/4 = 30amp Current Draw 120 * 30 = 3600 watts
