I wasn't sure where to put this, but recently, the my system makes this really bad cracking sound that makes music unbearable when i turn it to high levels (i like it at 50, but i can't take it past 45 any more). I bought new front door speakers because that's what i thought the problem was, but it's still doing it. When i listened closely, the sound comes from every speaker, even the new ones so i don't know what could be wrong. i don't think the sound is coming from my subs though.
they're running off the head unit as far as i know. i'm pretty sure the only thing that's hooked to the amp is the subs (i had them installed professionally so i'm not 100% sure)
it could be a problem with your hu's speaker outputs, of if there was pinched speaker some where, it could cause noise.
that's what i would think, but it just started this. why would it have worked fine before, but just now start making those sounds? as far as i know they're just off the deck
hmmm did any settings get disturbed? maybe the bass is up too high or the internal xover got reset some how
me too lol. i could understand if the system had always done this, but i've got it up to 60 before with no cracking (of course it was too loud to keep at that) but 55 was a normal volume for me. now i can't break 50. it was so random
