Demonstration of the Term Lab http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Various/termlab.1.wmv quotes from pete from TTB "this video as a reference to help explain to people that "loudness" as we preceive it with our ears is high amplitude, where as high SPL is the force that a wave exerts and, unless your box is designed for the sole purpose of pressure building who gives a **** what it registers on the TermLAB as long as it sounds loud and clean."
Now that was jus so confusing. So what exactly do those meters check? They don't test loudness. They check the highs or something
Look at it this way.... i yell into your ear at a distance of 12 inches as loud as i can.....It is loud, and might cause some slight discomfort. Now, from the same 12 inches of distance, I press the valve on a blow nozzle with 125 psi of air pressure on it, right into your ear. That is PRESSURE. (and will hurt like hell and probaly cause serious hearing damage) I hope that clears it up a bit. Of course that is putting it about as basic as can be said.
No its just the fact that most people over on ROE are like...if the numbers aren't from a Term Lab than it doesn't mean SH!T.
