I own a 2006 Subaru Impreza and am looking to upgrade to something better than my Polk db's in the front and factory in the back. I would like to fit 6.5" components in the front. I am working with about 300-400 bucks for components and an amp. I am open to suggestions but i listen to mostly metal so punchy is good. The amp needs to be amp to power whatever the components will be and either the Polk db's or another matching pair of the components for the rear. Thanks for the suggestions and i hope you can understand in the description what i am talking about...haha
look for high efficiency, and look for lots of cone excursion on the midbass driver...invest in sound deadening on the doors and let your ears decide what sounds the best...even a cheap set of 60 dollar components can sound great when set up up right
Is sound deadening a must? I have had tons of subwoofers in my trunk and was wondering if i should sound deaden my trunk too? Its not the license plate that rattles tho its actually the rear bumper, it smacks up against my trunk. So i guess i dont know what to sound deaden back there. Any input on amps or component brands or models?
http://www.caraudiotalk.com/audio-forum/showthread.php?t=3508 look for the best YOU can afford, and what sounds good to YOU. no real answer on brands and models with thousands of models to choose from. picking the right components will take time and research. what sounds good to one ear may sound like crap to your ears.
i have a set of RE audio xxx 6.5 components new in box..they should put out plenty of punchy bass.. a little on the expensive side.. but i could do those and an RE 2 channel amp that will do 130rms x 2 @ 2ohm.. and the xxx components are 2 ohms.. i can do amp and component for 400..
