Running components off Amp/Head Unit/ or Both?

Here is my delima. I have a dedicated amp (Hifonics BXI2000D) for my subs (2 - Apline SWR-1042D). I am fixing to upgrade my stock high's and mids to some component sets (Infinity Kappa 60.7 components 6-1/2" and Infinity Reference 4x6 with Infinity Kappa 10.7 tweeters). I also have an MTX Thunder282 I want to use to run them (here are the spec's http://mtx.com/caraudio/archive/2004amps/thunder282.cfm ). I also have a Pioneer DEH-P7800MP for my head unit (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uEhT2o...g=300&tab=features_and_specs&i=130DEHP780#Tab )

However, I am wondering if possibly running them off the head unit or running just the 60.7's off the head unit might give me just as good sound. Here is my delima (maybe its just me being lazy) but I don't want to have to pull the speaker wires for the front speakers (2002 Chevy Z71 4door). Since the back doors open up to the rear it would be much less time consuming to pull the rears (which would be the 4x6's and tweeters), hook them up to the amp and put the fronts on the stock speaker wires that are already pulled.

Will this give me less sound quality or lower sound levels? Also, is the MTX Thunder amp I have a decent choice for all the mids and high's?

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, you are being lazy.

If you have an amp to run some highs on, USE IT!!!! You need ideally as much power going to the highs as you do the subs, but the more the better.....you will thank yourself for taking the time to run wire and do it right.... it should make your highs MUCH more dynamic andsound like they are actually there!!!

    I agree with Viking here....

The outboard amp you mention should definitely be an improvement over the HU amp power...Not to mention more flexibility....Even if your headroom improves only 2-4 db....that is worth it....
