   How do you get a ring terminal onto the battery terminal when it has a big 1.5"-2" rubber seal over the battery terminal bolt? I'm upgrading my grounding system.

   "rubber seal" what do you mean? a boot over the terminal or something actually on the bolt?
   
   If its a boot over the terminal, cut it off, or slide the wire/terminal through where the factory wire goes.

   A boot. It's put there for a reason to prevent arcing if anything metal comes near it. Maybe I'll go to Pep Boys and get some advice.

   those rubber boots usually end up in the trash. You don't need it if you're careful about using tools near the battery. You can fabricate a new, larger one to cover the ring terminal, if you want to.. I just modified the one I already had..
