I recently added a kicker 650 amp along with infinity kappa component speakers in front and kickers in the rear doors. I plan on replacing the stock bose deck with a new one around christmas. I dont want to add another amp for a sub. My question is can I just drop in another subwoofer to replace the bose subwoofer? I read a few places that the kicker free air sub works with some fitting mods but I cant find anywhere about how to connect it with the stock bose amp. The bose woofer pops when I turn the volume over half way. It was poping even before I added my other speakers and amp for them.
well first what i would do is look and measure some things. See how big the sub is.. whats its diameter.. whats the mounting depth you have to work with. How is it hooked up as far as the connectors on it... look up how much power that stock amp is putting to it. Once you have that info we can easily help you find a replacement speaker for it. Need to really see and measure what it is and how much room you have before we can suggest any speakers to replace it with.
