im 16, well 10 days away from 16, and i dont have an amazing cash flow, im thinkin of buying a used or "Refurbished" JVC KD-LX30, would it be a bad idea? its got 4 volt preamp outputs to the front, rear and sub.. bklx said 4v would make it sound better and i've been reading up and i think it seems worth it. it also has an El Kameleon face....

Factory refurbished? same warranty? Why not.

I bought a Denon deck and 6 disc changer, refurb, for $700 Lasted for 4 years. So, why not?

I have been known to buy refurbished in the past to secure a good price...
    I think it's a great option...

I think of it as "having gone through quality control twice" -
Once when new, and it was plucked off the assembly line having failed for some reason...
Which of course, every exception has to be dealt with by a real, live person.. so you have some personal attention there, usually a good thing I think...
Then it has to go through quality control again.

    I don't think that's a bad thing! ;)

you will never get the same warranty...

Factory referbished items from 90% of the manufactures come with only a 30-90day warranty......
