I have this head unit hooked up to an Alpine Type R 12 powered by an Alpine M500 in my '07 Charger. The problem is that occassionally, with no apparent rhyme or reason, I will get sound from the sub, but nothing from the speakers. It happens sporadically and may work fine the next time I turn the car on. Hope someone can help! Thanks in advance.

Do you have the amp inputs wired to your speakers(high lvl) or an RCA patch cable?

Are your other speakers hooked up to an amp or running rite off the HU?

Other speakers are running off the head unit.

My only guess is either the headunit has a problem internally or somethings going on with your wiring. Id double check all the speaker wires in the back of the headunit and speakers, if all of thats okay it must be something with the HU.

You probably have a shorted speaker wire. Pioneer head units have good internal protection and shut down if there's a problem. You can often tell this is the case if when you first turn on the system, you hear a click from one of the speakers.
