power wire heatshield

    okayyy soo this weekend i finally installed part of the system on the new blazer and where i ran my power wire through the firewall gets reaaaally close to the right manifold and it emits a looot of heat. i put some split wire loom but its melting slowly hahaha i need something stronger. what do u guys suggest?

    p.s. ill be posting pics of the build in a cple

    hmm your going in on the drivers side right? if so im not having any probs with mine at all.

    unless you went tho another opening

    i went through the antennae rubber grommet on the pass side

    does it pass anywhere close to the manifold on the driverside??

    i'm sure it doesn't dan. You should have a lot more space on the drivers side than the passengers side so you'll be able to avoid any real hot places.

    yup, that's ford for ya. lol. i had to run my power across the whole backside of the firewall and then had it going in through the drivers side.

    nice pics. what are you using for your speakers up front? where did you ground your amps to?

    oh........and where's your DD??????????

    my speakers up front are Dti(cheapo brand i guess haha) they actually sound pretty good and really loud. and my dd is in my room lol i want to strengthen the electrical a bit first and i grounded it to a bolt used to hold stuff down that i found in the trunk i stripped the paint off and put the bolt and cable only

    i wish i had rear doors so i could work and tune my amp easier. also you didnt have to deal with the storage bins that 2 doors have. tough indeed.

    nice amp location too .lol. only amp location in that truck.

    yeah haha i could only put the sundown on the seat the profile one didnt fit so i put them behind the sub :S

    they do fit side by side, just that one of the boards is too small
