I have a 2001 Ford F150 and everything right now is factory wiring and factory battery, alternator, etc.
I am having installed 2 15" Kicker L7 subs and powering them will be a 2200w Power Acoustik (2-ohm) amp. Also if this makes a difference, a Pioneer Premier head unit. All of my speakers are factory as well as the wires.
Basically, what I want to know is if the factory wiring, alternator, battery, etc. can handle the power of the subs without dimming the headlights and me having problems with low battery or whateva else. I dont want to put a bunch of cash into the car like an exspensive new alternator cause im only gonna have the truck for a year.
    Please help guys

I would do the big three wiring upgrade. That amp will draw alot of power,so make sure you use the proper gauge wire for the amp and big three.

I have a 2001 Mercury Sable and it comes with a stock 130 amp alt, your truck might even be stonger but not sure. I have 1 amp at 1 ohm and 1500 watts and 1 four channel amp at 35 watts per channel plus a cleansweep, everything is stock. My lights barely dim at all when its cranked, I dont think you will have any problems, but I only have 44000 miles on my car, if you have a lot of miles on your alt you might have some problems with lights dimming. Give it a shot, you might not have any problems at all.

just to install 1 amp, wire to your woofers. Id say about 250-300. You will need power wire, fuse holder, fuse, maybe battery terminal but ring connector can work ok, mounting amp, speaker wire to subs, firewall grommet. Most places here in so cal charge about 75 per amp plus materials. It may be cheaper where you live.
