I'm looking at powering two 12" Kicker CVRs with a 900w rms amp @ 2 ohms in my car. I have a 117 amp alt and I'm wondering if that will cause any electrical problems? I've been looking around but I can't find anything on how to calculate the draw on your electrical system.
You should be fine, but if your lights dim when the bass hits,do the big 3.You can google search it and find out what it is.
i currently have 2 batts in the back of my truck and the one under the hood on a stock 105 amp alt... big 3 too. the batt should be as close to the same under the hod as you can find.
Here is a simple way to determine average current draw on the electrical system(total rms continous watts x .50 / amplifier effeciency / cars voltage = average current draw on cars electrical system).this is intended for musical signals not tone generators.the reason for multipling by .50 is that .50 represents a musical signal driven to the point of distortion.for bass reproduction you may use (.60).if there is more than one amplifier used, simply combine the results of all amplifiers.
