Power clipping

    I have boat with a Pioneer supertuner III D head unit. There is also an Alpine amp as well. The problem I am having is when turn the volume up is shuts the seems to shut the power off to the head unit. I a couple of seconds it the power comes back but as soon I hear sound out of it it shuts off again. Does anyone have any ideas where to stast looking?

    too low a voltage is my guess too.

    I have duel batteries and it also does it when the motor is running (noproblems with the alternator).

    specs on amp?? and what gauge wire you running??

    at what ohm load is it wired too?
