so i got all these bose mini amps from my car lyin around
figured id connect them up and see how they sound
to be honest i was shocked it make my home audio system sound great.
so anyways the problem is each of the mini amps are running off 2 9 volts a piece....
anyway to power these suckers off the wall power so as not to spend a fortune in 9 volts?

im guessing it all depends on the amprage draw from the mini amps

i have absoultly no clue how much they draw
but it did take 2 9 volts to get them to come on
    1 couldnt do it
and those 2 9 volts lasted about 5 hrs steady before dying

Curious Caddy? How did you determine it takes 2.9 volts to get the amps to work?

im not really cheep i just want one now...

    youd be surprised vik
for as much as those amps and speaks sucked in my car

get the biggest you can afford.they werent that much.try the 22 amp model.i'm sure once you start cranking the vol thy will start to pull some current.

check them with a VOM.then you'll know for sure which size to buy.

even if it was 2 9 volts 10 should be ok????
they are from a factory car bose system so i was thinking they might be 12 volts???

the supply is 12 volts but we are talking amprage draw.10 or 15amps should work but im not 100%sure.thats why you should check the current draw on a VOM.

I have run some car audio equipment in the home before , long term.......

I used a astron 50 amp power supply and a sealed gel cell battery (no leaks)

I run an Orion 2150SX on 4 15 inch subs (we had a NICE setup for our jam sessions, (even miced my drums through the subs) the system worked good for about 4 hours then the voltage started to drop off below 13 volts, thats when i quit running it.

With your application , a good strong power supply of 25 amps should work with NO battery, or perhaps a battery and 10 amp power supply.

I dont know much about the bose system.

So Viking if you wired up the power supply with a battery would it be charging the battery and supplying current...because I'm not really using my power supply anymore and may wanna hook something up in my garage

Yes, the power supply would maintain the charge on the battery, and allow whatever is hooked up to draw from the battery and power supply.
