okay so i finally got everything hooked up in my jeep.

i have an 05 grand cherokee with the boston acoustics upgrade, and tapped into the input lines from the HU to the amp, ran this through a LOC to my crunch 1500, then to my 2 JL 12w3s

the only problem i have here is that my subs dont go up and down with my HU and speaker volume? They seem to stay at about the same level unless I turn my HU all the way to zero, then the bass cuts. Is this a bad setting on my LOC? or on my amp? or should i have tapped into the rear speakers after the amplifier?

thanks for all of your help.

I have one question.... Does your Jeep have a factory amp in it?

I think your going to have to look into bypassing that amp. I've heard on countless occasions that in order to run another amp in a system like yours, you'll have to do a bypass

so then id have to run all of my speakers on my monoblock amp? haha i hope thats not what you mean...
I've heard of people doing this before, i was hoping that it was just a problem with my gain settings or my LOC levels were too high.
id really like to keep my factory amp if i could..

thats what i think the problem is..i just wasnt sure.
i never touched the loc's settings.. i think that they were just way too high to begin with.
hopefully my signal was just way too high going into my amp?

i gave up on my install at about 12:30 last night.. so i never got around to playing with all of my amp settings. i wasnt sure if i needed to splice after the factory amp, or if i just had to play with all of my gains

bad news...i've been playing with my loc gain and my amp settings for about an hour and the HU volume still never seems to effect my subs. any suggestions? should i try tapping in after my factory amp instead of before it?

if it makes a difference, i have the premium sound system. and theres data wires running from my HU to my amp...so maybe what im wanting is the signal after the amp?
sorry for all the questions haha

i fixed the problem... my HU sends a constant signal to my amp, where the volumes controllled. so i tapped in after my factory amp and everything sounds great.
    thanks for your help everyone
