I need some help. I recently installed a Pioneer AVH-P5200BT with Pioneer AVIC-U220 Add-On Navigation Device.

I love the unit in itself. It's very responsive and touch screen works great. My only issue with the whole thing is the NAV portion - once i'm in motion I CANNOT change the address of where I'm navigating to. I know, I know, it's NOT safe to program an address while driving - but my passenger can. I make alot of long trips, and I find it very inconvenient that I have to pull over to enter another address.

Is there any way around this that anyone is aware of? I don't want to watch movies or anything, that's just crazy, I just want to change an address....

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Did you install this yourself? Most units that have NAV or DVD playback capability have a ground wire to the parking break that ensures you are not in motion so you can operate these options on the head unit. Once this wire is grounded (parking break on) then it signals the unit that it can release these options for use. If you installed it yourself, then you would of had to install this ground wire and would know about it. If you didn't install it, then whoever did install it more then likely installed this device. If you take this wire and run it straight to ground, it will operate with the parking break disengaged.

On your unit, it is a Light Green spliced into your parking brake switch. Here is the link to the online manual for your head unit

    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/AVH-P5200BT_InstallationManual0114.pdf

If you look on page 5 it shows the light green wire being connected to the parking brake switch. Disconnect that cable from the parking break switch and run it to your frame and it will allow use of all the functions anytime.

You probably can't get an installer to do this for you, because they could be liable if something happened. You will have to do it yourself more then likely.
