    Hey All.

Right i have a pioneer duel voice coil sub TS-W3001D4 Rated at 1000 watts RMS and 3000 watts PEAK. I got told that to get this sub to its full potential i would need a 1000watt RMS amp at 2 Ohms. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what sort of amp would be the way forward. Thanks

    Hey,

Thanks for your reply i have just brought a kenwood amp Mono 900 watts RMSnat 2 ohms my problem now is that my headlights, interior lights and dash lights seriously flicker. I went down halfords and seen that my battery is suited to a 1.6 and i have a 2.5 so i got the correct battery at £100 and though this might sort my problem, Well no it hasnt and im 100 quid down now. Do you recommed a cap as well and if so what so, Thanks

I recommend you do the big 3 first. we don't like caps around these parts. what gauge wires are you using?

    :(

Sorry for being so dumb lol. Whats are the big three?? i am using 10 gauge wire. As soon as the bass kicks in my engine dies down and as soon as it stops bass and just goes into vocal the engine picks back up, so my system is serious taking power from the car. Also i was expecting some serious bass compared to my monkey setup before which was just a 350 watts rms amp and a 450 watt rms sub which sounded better then all this expensive equipment. So sorry to come across as dumb its just there is very little help out there. Thanks for all your help so far.

We gotta learn somehow. I know i asked a lot of dumb questions before and i still do. lol

Well if your running 1000watts 10gauge is way too small for the system. I would suggest to go with with 2ga or even 0ga wires especially if your going to have 1000watts RMS and up.

here's the thread on explaining the big 3..
