    Hello,
I'm making my first steps in the car audio hobby ^_^ and I need some help. I have a Pioneer TS-W307D4 sub and a Kenwood Kac-726 amp. So I want to make a box for the subwoofer, but i don't want that deep-vibrating bass - what must be the box sealed or not ? On the cover of the sub there are a few sizes for boxes - the sealed one is 35cm cube. I'm listening to rap/hip-hop/house/dance. I'm planning to put the sub in a '98 Ford Focus Hatchback. :)

    Technical Specification
    Sensitivity: 89 dB
RMS Power Range : 400 Watts
    Peak Power Handling: 1200 Watts
    Impedance: Dual 4 Ohm
    Low Frequency response: 18 Hz
    High Frequency Response: 500 Hz
    Diameter: 12 Inch
    Features
12" 4-ohm Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer
    1200 Watts Maximum Power
    400 Watts Nominal Power
    Double Stacked Magnet
IMPP with Aramid Fiber Composite Cone
83 Oz. Ferrite Double Stacked Magnet System
    3-Layer Woven Radial Surround
4-Layer, 2.25" Round Copper Voice Coil
    PI 180 Voice Coil Wire
Projected Pole Yoke with Vented Pole
    Magnet Cover
    Single Sided Push Terminals
Enclosure use: 0.85 cu. ft To 1.75 cu. ft

    Thank You in advance! :)
    Best Regards, Radoslav.

well, the easiest way to go about it is to make a sealed box. since you don't want ground pounding bass you may just want to go with 1.5 cu. ft. sealed box.

    3/4 MDF would be good.

yup, 3/4 MDF. Wood glue all the joints and pre drill holes every 3 inches and screw the joints together.

I've done two boxes already, it's really not that hard.
