    hello every one,
hope every one is fine and jolly.

ok i have a Pioneer AVH-P6600 DVD. its all connected! everything works fine so far but with 3 problems.

1st: The website says that the AVH-P6600 does have Pre outs.
    http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/AVH-P6600DVD/index.html
But On my System i can't find the pre outs? i've looked behind the system for phono's or pre outs but didn't find any then i looked at the brain unit (hide away Unit) theres also no pre outs on that as well? i don't know what i'm looking for now beacuse the brain unit only has Antina, AV input and Av Output thats it. are the pre outs not phono cables on this system or something?

2nd: Sometimes when i play a VCD the sound and picture chops off the the music is playing slow, but when i play a DVD or a Music cd it plays fine. why does my VCD plays crap on the player is there some kind of setting i need to burn with. i'm useing Nero.

3rd: When playing a DVD Or A VCD i get a message " ATTENTION" and says something about not allowed to watch the dvd while driving but the moive is still playing in the background because i can hear the sound of the film still playing. when i push the system back the message goes away i think it might be a lose or naked wire some where what should i do?

once again thanks for reading and hope some one can help me out!

Those are wired so you can't have the video playing while driving...safety thing.

The preouts should be female rca connectors behind the unit I believe.

If I remember my Pioneer AVH-P6600, the preouts are located on another plug. This unit should come with 2 plugs, one is the power/speaker plug and the other has the preouts and video out plugs. These are two seperate plugs.

I cannot remember if a VCD is an .avi or .mpeg file. Or can it be either? In either case files downloaded from the net are usually not 100% reliable. These files can sometimes be repaired but in most cases, I would find another source. The problem that I typically see is that the sound is not in sync with the video. Many video authoring programs can fix this.

Now if you are ripping these files from a DVD and experiencing this problem, I might suggest a different ripper. Are you using Nero to Rip the VCD

AZN is right, for safety purposes you cannot play a video while you are driving... HOWEVER, you can ground the e brake wire in order to play videos while driving. I don't recommend it although i did it with my head unit but it's for my kids. I NEVER WATCH A VIDEO WHILE DRIVING....

I've tried watching a video while driving...I don't recommend it. Very dangerous. I found myself watching the video for a several seconds and not paying attention to the road...I could have died. Do it at your own risk

RCA's and phonos are the same thing (all though I have not heard them called phonos in a long time.) It should have both additional video and audio outputs. That Pioneer should have come with 2 plugs. (I'm gonna double check that later and make sure I'm right). The first plug is power and speaker outs. Obviously you have that one cause the unit works. The other plug (it should plug in right next to the power/speaker plug) has the preout (phonos) connections that your looking for.

Did you buy this unit new, because it would have come with all the plugs?

The part # for the plug is CDE-7194 and it called an RCA output cord

You can download a complete set of directions for that unit at Pioneers website. You'll have to register but thats free. If you have trouble locating the directions post back and me or someone will locate them.

Pioneers site can be interesting to navigate sometimes.
