Wow... I can't believe all that damage, just because someone opened their door into your fender while your car was parked...
Nice! I can't believe they totalled it though, for that little damage. Lazy frame pullers. But that's good for you, no complaints, right? EX coupe with a stick... sounds like my car! Jackson Racing supercharger is your friend...
The insurance company told us that it was fixable but if we wanted to declare it totalled, we could. Ended up getting close to 6gs for a 97 Civic LX. Gotta love the resale value of an import! In your face Mike! When I heard that we can get rid of it, I got all my Audio equipment out and waved goodbye :bye: THe new car is nice, learning to drive stick is nice. The only complaint I have is that it is white, but hey, the car was a steal. We got it certified from an Acura dealership for less than 6gs(6,500 with all the paperwork). It was listed for 8gs but I somehow managed to find an online ad for it that said it was $5,995. The dealership had no idea about the price, lol. It has 74k miles, thats more than 10k less than the old civic. I ordered an AEM Short Ram intake. I absolutely love the sound of this engine. The LX engine did not sound nearly as good. Plus Vtec never hurt no one. If only the car had a a little more torquwe, things would be perfect. For now Im just going to put in the SRI, and keep everything else stock. I see tints, rims, and SI tailights in the future, though.
"too bad" it's white? I paid $600 to have a Pathfinder shipped from Florida, BECAUSE it was white! Well, that and because I found one that was 2wd, and a 5 speed... White and silver are about the only two colors that I think are sharp enough that you wouldn't get sick of them over time, and they dress up really nicely. B) You'll find that the VTEC motor stock, you'll want to keep your revs in the 4500-7300RPM range for quick accelleration. Don't be afraid of redline, there's a rev governer that'll start misfiring the motor, so you won't be able to bring the revs up past 7300. Also, you'll find the stock airbox is very restrictive, and the stock exhaust isn't too bad. Replacing the airbox with one of the short-tube cold-air intake systems (I've got an RS Akimoto, and would recommend this exact one!) caused a noticable HP improvement, even though it's not much. The exhaust didn't do as much, or the header, but it did deepen the tone a lot. Another side benefit of the intake, is that nothing sounds sweeter than bringing the car to redine, at wide-open-throttle, trumpeting out that aluminum intake... It's cool, because it sings at wide-open-throttle, and sounds stock quiet, with the butterfly valve at more closed positions. B)
I purchased an AEM Short Ram already. The engine sounds soooo nice and will sound even better with the intake. I went short ram instead of CAI to gain a lil bit of power in the midrange.
