Physics Project: Made a speaker

    Well for a physics project me and two other friends made a speaker.


    Voice coil former is made from computer paper.

    Voice coil is made from enamel coated wire. DC resistance was at like 1.8 ohms

    Spider is made from an old wife beater (A-shirt) it really is only two half in straps on the sides of the former. Yes the definition of GHETTO

    Cone is the dustcap from an EHQS 12 subwoofer.

    Spider is just duct tape that we taped from the edge of the basket to the cone/dustcap.

    This was all done in one night. The first night we made the coil...then it glue itself inside the gap...so we had to start all over.

    Here is a lil video of it playing some "party like a rockstar"

    In the video my friend is pushing the cone up a lil bit...the coil was too low in the gap and was not efficient at all...we found out that the coil needed to be right at the top of the gap to be the most efficient.

    it was at like midnight and my garage has crappy lighting. I still need to add about three more flourescent light fixtures
