Performance Or Sounds?

Well, a minor problem with the Buick has forced me to make a major decision.

I need to go through the motor. I have an issue in a big way.

Fortunately, I am so pleased with the system in the car, I don't see any need for change. Really though, I haven't changed it much at all in a long time. For this I must say hey and a special thanks to the folks at Adire for providing me with the very best in audio gear.

Now on to the good stuff... The car is getting tired. It really has been needing some serious teardown and repair for a while. I figure while I am in the engine I will really work it this time. Primarily, I will focus on FAR better numbers and FAR better acceleration. I will cam the car for increases in exhaust speed and volume to allow for faster spooling times. I will also go bigger on the exhaust. An 8 way computer chip for a wide variety of performance that is switchable "on the fly" is also going to be a player. Certain little things like a heated O2 sensor (allows for high grade gas (107 and greater) and leaded gas to be used without fouling) a TPS enhancer, and a couple other small goodies are going to be added. A bit of tranny work (new Art Carr Valve body, accumulator drum and piston, and a shift kit) will be needed to round off the build and withstand the extra motor. I am also considering a bigger turbo and front mounted intercooler.

I am hoping for increases of 75-150 HP in both the HP and torque of the vehicle. I am expecting over 600 Lb Ft of torque and 550 Hp.

All told the engine itself will cost slightly over $2500. And if I choose to go with the Turbo (~$900) and the intercooler ($1300) I will need a new torque converter as well (about $500). Also, I am hoping to have enough to paint the car when the motor is done, but who knows. As you can see, the Stereo will not be seeing any major changes anytime soon.

So with the above thoughts in mind, please forgive me if I do not seem as into the stereo aspect of the car right now. I will still be helping as best as I can, but right now my mind is on building a better and a really frikken fast ass car
