Here is what happens with most Civics, Most people just snap the kit in the dash. They dont install the back brace or (depending on the year) they dont secure it to the factory dash hold down.

Let me know what year your Civic is, but most of the time the radio is not secure. Now if the radio is secure and you have enough Bass to make it skip, then is time to invest in an Ipod interface and a Nano (flash memory, no moving parts that can skip)

ok well its a 93 civic coupe very lil space and there would be no need to secure it cuz there would be no way of it moving, BUT i think i may have some to a conclusion if i have the CD player on 25 and turn the subs up it will hit very hard nice bass no skipping but soo i turn it to around 31-32 max40 it will cut out, could this be a onboard surge protector like to make sure ur head unit doset blow up or over heat? becouse i think thats my problem let me know what u think about that, cuz i mean its not a cheap cd player retails for 500$

Are you saying that the radio isnt skipping but cutting out.

In that case the voltage might be dropping to much when the bass hits. I would confirm this with a volt meter, but if this is the case run your ouwn power lead from the battery to the radio. I would use 12 gauge (no need to go crazy here) and also use a short piece of 12 Gauge from the chassis of the radio to something metal in the car.

Anyway if voltage drop is the problem that should help.

I have seen this problem with some of the newer High Power HU's. The stock wire will not supply enough current at high volumes. The pioneers actually have a switch on the bottom to select normal or high power. Whenever we select "High" we have to change the constant wire and the ground or it will cut out at high volumes.

yea i mean it hits hard but nothing to skip a CD player like that, but i was talk to the guy that sell me all this stuff and he was saying the same thing about running the power wire, i think thats what i might have to do becouse its a high out put Head Unit 70X4
