onto my box.

    Ok as most know I have two 12" kicker l5s and now I need a box. First thing Is my max mesurments are 40Lx37Wx10H. The only thing I'm worried about is it being to shallow because me subs are going to be facing up and the mount depth of the sub are about 6.75" so there will only be about 3" in between the magnet and bottom of the box. And then I need to figure out if I need to put the slot port by the subs or opposite end, wich way the port needs to face inside the box cause it will go down and make a 90 inside the box. I'm shooting for ~40hz for max spl. So any in site would be nicely appreciated. Thanks
    And for those who have helped me get to this point THANKS and this should be the last ??'S for a wile (I know I said that wile back but hope I'm serious this time lol)

    01 bmw 330ci max trunk width is 50" on bumper end, 30 were the wheel whels are. 37 from bumbper end to seat and 17 from floor to trunk lid. Max entrance/opening of trunk is 40x17.

    I'll probaly have to assembale every thing in the trunk.

    ok here are my box measurements.

    sorry for my poor drawing but it works to give an ideal.
    for the port I'm either going with 2 3"x3"x 3"long (two 3x3x3)or ONE 3"x12" at ~6"long. what yall think. build is going down tomorrow. will take pics and show results.
    thos port tunings are at 40hz at 5.5 ^ft, the reason i put 5.5 instead of the full 6 is for sub and port displacement. good ideal or bad?
    o and thes are all rough estaments on the tuning. as long as i get in the ball park of 40 il be ok.

    sorry for the incorrect measurements(i was putting 40 when all i can fit is 30 width wise, and that still doesn't come out right). but it has all changed. im going w 30x h 12x d 37. which is 5.6713^ft (say ~5.5^ft with displacement which is close enough for me). port is w 3x h 15 comes out to be 7.82772568 which I cant cut that close. i will do the best i can to cme out were i wana be so wish me luck! and thanks for the help.

    Are you going after just spl?Because I think tuning lower will sound better.I mean everybody has a their own opinion,but 40 is too high(in my opinion)for sound quality.A good mix would be to tune around 35hz.

    the max for that sub by it self is

    kickers recomendations for max per sub in spl and minimum vented enclosure remember you have to allow room for the sub to breath also so your at 6.5 in the biggest box 3.5 in the smallest box If you can I would also design the box in a rectangle so its easier to tune. Other wise you might be louder with one.

    here it is. other sub still in car, top is no going on until i get my holes cut out for the ports, i will be ordering them Friday.
