Nub question on wiring my new deck

i got a 1997 ford escort, im trying to install my pioneer deck..I am 100% sure the deck works great.

several websites state 1997 Ford Escort Car Stereo Wiring Diagram

Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Blue/Red
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Blue/Black
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Red/Black
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: N/A

and my deck states
yellow- connect to the constant 12v supply terminal
red - connect to terminal controlled by ignition switch (12v dc)
black - ground...

When i try to connect the blue/red with yellow
and the blue/black with red
and black to black

The deck wont bootup...i dont understand why... i noticed on the blue black and blue red coming from the car, there's additional yellow and red from a seperate wiring setup. Not sure why its tapped into it, but i've tried leaving it , and disconnecting it. Still no bootup with deck

any input would be greatly appreciated.
