    Hello,

I have been searching for a new indash DVD system and came across the JVC KW-AVX706 and was hoping someone could give me some info on the unit. I have had Kenwood units in the past and have had nothing but bad luck with them. Any information would be great.

    Thanks

Jvc is not a bad brand. But don't forget there are many other good brands with comparable prices. Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, Clarion just to name a few others you might want to check out. Don't rule them out until you have a good feel for why you do not like a certain unit.

When you are shopping for electronics it is very useful to "play" with them and see which you like the most. Call around to a few different shops and find out who has a good selection of HU's including this one you are inteested in. Then take a trip and go check them out and see how it pans out.

You can read reviews all day long but none of them will come close to the review you will be developing in your head while you are playing with them first hand.

Hey thanks for the reply. After some thorough research and some hands on at a few local audio places I decided on a Pioneer unit. AVH-P6800DVD. A little more then the JVC, but I guess you get what you pay for. Will have it installed next week along with a couple of headrest monitors.

I will post pics of the install next week sometime.

    Thanks again!
