Hello everyone, I own a 1994 Camaro hatchback coupe that i'm currently doing work on here and there to restore it to great condition. I've done most of the modifications I had planned for the engine / drive train so now i'm more or less focusing on the interior (ugh). I'm looking for a setup that will have good SQ without breaking the bank, however I dont' really have a budget in mind. What I was thinking is that i'll pay up to where the break point in quality is. Usually you pay up to a certain point and then its just for show and very small gains, so wherever that point is on average. Quality stuff that isn't stupidly expensive (Say $500 - $600? if I just had to give a number) Keep in mind that this is an on going project so there isn't a set budget. The car uses 6-3/4" or 6.5" speakers for the front and back. I currently have a Pioneer HU (older model, not sure of the serial #), two Alphasonic 10" subs (not sure of the model #) with a 600w (?) amp. I'll check out what I have in a few minutes and edit the post. Looking for: Good SQ (Value for Dollar) New HU (MP3 CD Compatible is a plus, AUX in necessary, minimalist nothing fancy preferred) Subs not necessary, I kind of find that with the stock setup the 10" subs over power the sound quality and i'm trying to avoid that. So a good sound stage is paramount. I'll be sound matting the doors and etc.. as well. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
welcome to the forums. i too am gearing towards sq/sql. im a big polk fan so maybe their db series comps will work for you. you can find them online for about 120ish. also JBL is another good brand to look into. i know a SQ guy that runs all JBL. i hear focal has a budget comp set too. mb quarts, PG rs series got good reviews as well. good luck.
oh right i forgot about those. you may want to look into a trunk mounted eq. those can be found cheap on ebay. the JBL SQ guy i know has an audio control dqxs http://www.audiocontrol.com/t34/524...essors/DQXS-Digital-Crossover--Equalizer.html but all of their stuff is awesome.
