hi there. just wondering if someone can help me out.

i have an alpine mrpm500 amp and want to have a gain control on it but it doesn't come with one. i dont think it has the input (like phone jack) for it so i assume i have to buy rca type and that will work on that amp? will there be room on the amp for that to hook up to even if i need to use an inline converter since i am leaving my factory deck installed? also i have a factory sub and amp in my car but want to add aftermarket amp and sub so should i be relaying into the factory amp/sub and using those hook ups or leave that as is and do totally separate hookup?

the amp is 2ohm and 4ohm. i have two subs (solobaric l3 and l5. one is 2ohm (with kicker box thats ported) and the l5 (higher version) but is 4ohm and comes with a qlogic box (sealed). what do you recomend would be better? i only want to use one box/sub. i would like deeper/louder bass. thanks in advance.

According to this, it does have gain control..... http://support.alpine-usa.com/products/documents/OM_MRP-M500.PDF
Leave the factory sub amp in place but disconnect it, you may be able to use the inputs for the new amp but I wouldn't use the factory output or power(unless the power/ground is up to par with the new amp)
you might want to check this.......http://www.bazooka.com/products/mobile/Amplified-Bass-Tubes-Subwoofers-C6/BTSeries-S68
Now for the second part of your question, simply put, the 2ohm ported is what you want if you decide to go that route.
