I have an 02' Jetta 1.8T that's fairly tricked out mechanically and now it's time to do the audio. (Photo)

    Notes:
The interior was taken out to dynamat the accessible parts of the cabin so basically the doors, some of the frame, and trunk are complete in this regard.

I have a 24"x9" piece cutout in the rear deck to allow sound flow from the trunk to the cabin.

I have no head unit installed, the 6.5 components, and all other stereo components have been removed. I will be running new audio wiring for the whole setup.

The speakers I've selected for the front doors are the MB Quart QSD216 6.5" components and I'm not using any rear speakers as I am looking for decent sound quality.

I want to run a single set of RCA out from a head unit and feed into a crossover w/eq that will connect the low, mid, high R/L channels to the appropriate channels on each amplifier.

    My questions are:

    1. Is using a crossover before the amp recommended or should I just eq and use LPF on a sub amp and the crossovers included with the component set? What crossover setup should I use? ($160 budget)

    2. For sound quality, I'd like to use two 10" subs in a box optimized for SQ. What subs are good for this application (I've heard Kicker solobaric and liked the punch but didn't have an SQ test)? What box design can be tuned and is best for sound quality? ($350 budget)

    3. What is a good amp to drive the subs? ($175 budget)

    4. I want a hefty two channel amp that runs clean for the components up front. Recommendations? ($200 budget)

I'd like to identify the details such as crossover frequencies, slope, etc such as The Viking wrote in some posts here .

I'm a carpenter and network engineer so I'll be doing all of the work myself and building a bandpass or some other type of box.

I will blog the whole project and post pics here as I go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Buy has some killer deals right now as its the time in which all the new line up comes out

id start there for an amp, stick to Alpine Fosgate or Infinity
