Ok a buddy of mine is shopping for a complete aftermarket system. He wants to buy locally and after days of shopping around we found a shop that isnt over priced and seem to know their stuff. Anyways the shop we found carries the following brands; Kicker, Alpine, MTX, Memphis, Power Acoustik, Eclipse, Kenwood . We talked to the shop owner for a good while about an audio set up. This is what we came up with for a good system that wasnt going to cost a ton.

    Headunit: Eclipse CD3000
Front Speakers: Alpine R 5x7 components
Rear Speakers: Alpine R 5x7 coaxial
    Subs: (2) 12" MTX 7500's
    Box: Dual 12" Sealed 2.5cu
    Hi/Mid Amp: Power Acoustik OV4-600
    Sub Amp: Power Acoustik OV2-1600

What do you guys think about this? Amp power matches to speaker well? Seems like descent quality for the cost.. just wanted some opinions about it before he went ahead with that set up. He knows he is going to pay a little more than if he bought online but he wants a local warranty and a professional install.

For the amp for the sub I would recommend a Kenwood KAC-9102D

Also Kenwood for the speaker amp

also the guy was pushing this little square battery to use to keep the power nice and clean..

amp would have to be 1ohm stable if it were a single channel azn. these are dual 4 voice coil subs. forgot to state that.

you can wire them to 4 ohms still.so it does not need to be 1 ohm stable.unless you wire it that way.

you can do 8 ohm stereo,2ohm stereo,4 ohm mono or 1 ohm mono.with those.

it's all in the wireing.if you can afford it go for a sub amp that can do 2 ohm mono just to squeeze some more out of it.

Um...they do make the 7500's in single 4 ohm...just get those and wire em in parallel.

Also you don't need that little square battery thing....its a sham for you to spend more money and give it to them...it will in no way make the power "cleaner and nicer"...just upgrade your big three

I like the entire setup ECXEPT the power acoustic amplifiers.

go for memphis, kenwood, or any of the brands they sell there (besides PA) from that store (and you won't probably need to beef up your battery system yet)

he will probably be very happy with the sound.

I like your parts list, But have you considered different amps. We also sell and use Power Acoustic Amps (Power Series) and they are tuff. But I would consider what Azn recommended for your subs and maybe a Kenwood KAC 8402 or KAC 8452 for your highs. These amps are super clean. I have a KAC 8452 in my truck, it seems to ba a really solid amp.

    My 10-cents worth

yeah a few have recommended different amps so im going to check out the kenwood and memphis amps that arnt an arm and a leg for the guy. Kicker and Alpine are usually pretty costly.
