Hey guys I am new to the forum as I have been given 2 subs and an amp, but having problems getting them to work. The parts: 2 gauge Wire power 2 guage Wire Earth (amp to car body) Volt meter on battery, reading well above 12 Dual Battery system. (power running from accessories) Dual 12" Kicker CVR (older orange looking ones) Schneider 1000wat amp (I think half ohm stable? perhaps 1 Ohm, shouldnt matter) 4 channel bridgeable. Jenson TV head deck, early model. The symptoms: Subs drop out, as if turned off, when the volume is turned up to around 25/40 The config: Gain is turned right down on the amp Head unit is set to Xover at 80Htz Sub is set to lowest possible volume on the deck Bass is set to lowest possible on the deck, and for some reason, increasing the bass seems to turn the sub volume up too?? Currently both subs are bridges into the one channel of the amp. (as was installed by the guy who gave it to me) The problem started straight away. I have tried them bridged, both into one side, both into the opp side (nothing helped) I even tried seperating them, and bridging one sub off one side and the other sub off the other side.. There was another amp and subs on the same wires, that worked fine. Im installing a 2f Cap tomorrow to see if it helps. I doubt it, but at least it will give me something to do Cheers for any advice guys.
sorry for the late response. let me think about it.... have you tried to just run the subs non bridged? and i f i read it right you have another amp and subs running off the same power lead?
