My name is brad i have an 2001 acura integra Gsr a combination of speaker components in it (2x 6.5 audiobahn component in front 2x infinity kappa 6.5 in the rear those running off an off brand like 500 watt amp, 2 12" kicker subs in the hatch running off a kicker 800 watt class d amp) anyways i was wondering if anyone could help. recently i have noticed if i turn the sound down to off i can hear like a whine that gets louder the higher my rpm's go. any ideas anyone? i have 2 passions good music with a good system(this is what im working on currently) and AutoX racing. unfortunatly they do not go hand and hand every sunday when i race i have to take out the subs and the amps.
Maybe your power and signal wires to either of your amps are too close together. Are both power wires run on the same side of your car and both signal wires on the other?
whats the big three? and as for the amps ya there right together and all power and signal wires are running on same side of the car.
big three is alt bat and ground wire i believe im not 100% i forgot that lol wexford sweet man i bought my Caddy out at Baierl in Wexford off route 19 i live off route 910 in Hamar
Big three is upgrading with 4 gauge or bigger wire... Wires from: -Alternator to battery -Battery to chassis -Engine block to chassis Thus improving efficiency of your stock electrical system...most cars have crappy 8 or 10 gauge wire coming off of the alternator...meaning even though you may have 4 gauge or bigger wire...the amp is still trying to suck the power through the 8-10 gauge wire.
ok but question for ya i race this car in autox is any of this going to hinder my power of the car? and also would you reccomend a capasator? lights dim when bass puonds.
hinder power no... weight thats a MUCH different story my 97 ETC weighs in at 3800 lbs already and is built with alot of torque and power to get it moving. but with my system which was 3 subs and box and amp i was going about 1 second slower.... in the 1/4 i was doin 14.7 all day long with my mods without system best was 14.5 with system i couldnt hit 14.5 all say i was running 14.7 at best most were around 14.9
Um if the weight of like under 10 feet (conservative) of 4 gauge wire power is not goin to make any difference...it may even make your car faster...lol....I'm basing this off of balogna but the improved current transfer may allow better spark...again...all guessing based on crap lol. But it won't hurt anything...will only help...factory wiring can hardly even handle the accessories (headlights, fan, stereo, everything else)...there is even a slight voltage drop when the fan is on full blast with the headlights on
i think he means with the addition of a system in general taking away power from spark. i think its more of a weight disadvantage than a spark/lack of power one...
i kno i kno man im just continuing with the saracasim of it by saying no no friend youre wrong ahhahahaha
We seriously need to...I'm getting tired of typing the same sh*t over and over and over...or we could just post a link to one already...like this one http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?TID=73496&PN=1
