Hi Everyone, hopefully someone here will be able to help me out.

I just finished installing a new stereo in my 2000 Jeep TJ sport. I removed the old factory stuff and added a Pioneer DEH-3200UB head unit, Kenwood KAC-6404 amplifier, and 4 JL Audio TR525CXI speakers. I have the head unit connected to the amp with 4 RCA Cables, then I have each speaker connected to the amp (it's a 4 channel). When I did the initial set up, I turned the A and B gains down to minimum, then increased the volume on the head unit. However once the HU gets to about 38-40 the power led on the amp cuts in and out, and the sound begins to cut out. If I increse the gains then it will happen at a lower volume level on the HU. As it stands right now the system is not even as loud as the factory one was. Any hints on what could be the issue?

    Thanks.

Ok it turns out I am a dummy, I screwed the amp directly to the floor which must have grounded it out. Now that I removed the screws it is working fine. Thanks for reading though.

Screwing the amp to the floor won't "ground out the amp" unless this somehow made a terminal touch the floor.
