well... the most horrible thing happend... i crashed my car..... and my current deck is gone, don't work, POOF. I feel so bad for my car that i'm going to buy it a new deck. the whole back right half of my car is gone, my exhaust usually sticks strait out the back, it's in front of the back wheel sticking out the door. I've got horrible pics but to heart breaking to look at.
But back to the topic. I want a real real good deck. I feel bad for my car I want something great for it. I wanna try and keep my price range under 450 - 500 bucks. Any choices or post will help. I wanted a double DIN, they were lookin real good. Then I put my car type in and it says it don't fit, which changed my feelings toward double DIN. Any help leading me towards a new deck will help.
jus for my preference if it could have amp outputs, I see some of them without them. thanks

Damn, that sucks... how much is it giong to cost to fix it?

What kind of a head unit are you looking for? Just a regular one, mp3 kind of thing? I would look at brands like pioneer or Eclipse.

Not sure, the insurance agent is suppose to come by tomorrow to find out they might consider my car totalled because if you look at that pic, right behind the tire there's scrubbled up metal, it's hard metal it was right by the frame, I know my car is not knocked off the frame. but I should find out how much to fix by tomorrow. But i'm pretty sure it can be fixed...... I hope
I want a popular brand, that's known for being great, probably Pioneer, Alpine, Jensen. Lots of options on it. I also want it to have a HP and LP filter so I can take my equalizer out. If theres a good In-Dash up to 500, I might take a look at that, but want it to be a great deck.

Since your more familiar with Eclipse, is there options on there similiar to a HP Filter? can you drain the bass out of your speakers?

The first thing I look at mainly, jus for security, is a detachable face. Especially since this is a security reason why I want a new one, someone heard me, wants to jack me. With no face, they gonna steal a deck without a face.

But I do like that DEH 9800. When I look for information I go to crutchfield lol but buy off cheaper sites.

    That pioneer looks sweet.

You really can't go wrong with any of them. Pioneer makes really good head units.

If you look as the Eclipse CD5000 it has 5 settings for both HP and LP filters. They also have this ESN anti-theft protection. It's a digital key for you HU. I have no idea what means though. so that may be your buying point with pioneer, they have the detachable face. I'm really not sure if the Eclipse has them. I just love the idea of having 8V preouts. lol
