yes.just like that one. so when my money comes in i'll be looking for one. i'm also waiting for the guy that made my false floor to give me a quote for a box.
ok. the guy that did my floor moved his shop and still has no power.(still building the new shop). he did reffer me to a local shop.so tommorow i'll go and check it out.
ok i went to the shop and got a quote of 85.00 carpeted. but he wants to build it as a sealed box for the size i want. although he has kicker L5 10's in small ported truck boxes. i want a ported box.he insists on sealed.i dont know now. he's also not sure on what its output would be either.he knows it wont be as loud as my box now. anyone have any ideas on what i should do?
i think i'll hang one to my set up the way it is for now. the next show i go to i'll take a listen to set ups similar to mine to determine what i want to do.
Why would he insist on a sealed enclosure if you want a ported? Isn't the customer always right? I know that people here in the Philippines don't really use ported enclosures, that why I have a sealed box for now. Once i get my new stuff, i'm going ported. You don't want to try to build it yourself?
no i dont have any tools to do that, and dont want too. no need for them.also....i'm not a handy kind of guy
ok i found someone that will work with me.he figured what i knew could be done. if i turn my box on its side like this.... he could build a box very similar to what i have now.only the sub would fire down, and still port to the side.when my box is turned like that it still sounds good, and i gain a few inches of room.the box doesnt really loose any air space either.it just gets wider by 3-4 inches so its wedged between the spare and the wheel well. its not much more room, but i get a nicer looking box with room for the amps under it to breath a little more.with matching grey carpet.he said 75-100 bucks and 5 hours or so
oh and i went to another shop before that and the guy insisted on sealed.i tried to explain the whole if the box is turned this way.....bit.he still insisted. BUT!!.he would get it built in 3-4 hours for 100 even.not all day.
one more..the first guy said it would take all day because if he had a high end install it would take priority even if i was first in line.so he wouldnt get the nice car dirty. when i asked if he would get my car dirty he said"building a box is a dirty job",and i agree it can get dirty. WTF!!? so my truck he dont care about getting dirty the other car yes he would care about.again...WTF! he never even said"oh ,but we'll clean it".just it'll get dusty inside nothing that wont vac out. that means....to me....that they wouldnt even clean it unless is was a high end ride.just cause i wont be putting down thousands.only 75.00. and thats why i wont go there.its the principle. blah blah...i'm i wrong to think that.?
Your not wrong to think that. That guy just doesn't have any pride in his work. To me, no matter what has to be done clean up is a very important part of the overall job.
yeah.if you keep the customer happy then, they may return. for him to say mine would be put on hold to work on another car that came in after me because its a high end was like a slap in the face. then to say it would clean right up was another slap. i mean if they dirty it they should clean it.cause it was clean when it got there. i make sure my truck is at least clean on the inside.the outside...well............lol
