i have a nissan titan crew cab with 2 JL12w1's downfiring, but want more output.i have 2 custom center console enclosures.1 is 1.3 the other is 1.8 both are up firing.i could do either 1 12",1'10" or 2 10".ive considered either 1 FI BL 10" 0r 12", 1 DD 10",1 Audioque 10" or maybe a AA Chaos.i was also advised to use 2 RF T1 10's in the 1.3 sealed.I have a HiFonics 1508d 1500wrms(1200-1300) to push the set up and im also considering the IA7 or the Audioque 1200.im looking i guess SQL.i want it to sound clean but get as LOUD as possible. Please help.also if i run 2 10" it would be a common chamber and the port could NOT be on the same baffle.thanks
Just one 12" should treat you right. I would go for either the Fi or the audioque. That DD's are also nice and very underrated and they are LOUD!!! actually all of your choices are good. question. how would you plan to run 2 10's? common chamber put the port wouldn't be in the same baffle?
i might have room for the port i would just have to see once the 2 10's are in place.the only other option would be to put the port at the front of the enclosure as the subs are on top of the enclosure.so you think that 1 12 would be better than the 2 10's? which brand in your opinion would do the job im looking for?
If you can fit the 2 10's then i say go with the 2 10's. All the brands that you have chosen are very good subs. I would say just pick the one with the smallest enclosure requirements. If i remember correctly, having the subs firing up with the port/vent on the front of the box is okay to do but you'll have to confirm that with either Ranger or Aznboi. They are the box experts here. the more i think the more i'm liking your DD idea. those DD's get really loud depending on the model that you pick but be careful with DD they are very underrated subs. they can handle a lot of power.
well i placed my equipment order on friday.i went with 2 DC sound lab level 4 10's and a Sundown saz-1500d and also ordered a Sundown sax-50.4 for mids and highs.im using CDT comps and rear fills.im debating on swapping the factory h/u.its a 2009 nissan titan with 6 disc and steering wheel controls and overhead tv/dvd.my only concern is if i swap to a double din in dash dvd will the overhead still work?any thoughts
your overhead will still work, it's just a video connection for the new head unit you'll buy. for the TV though, i'm not sure, you may need something extra to play TV.
thanks for the help! so i need an additional connector for the overhaed?i know i need the wiring harness.....is it tied in to that harness or is it another connector and if so do you know what connector it is or who makes it?
all you'll need for the overhead is a video RCA for the overhead TV to work. it should be easy today. with regards to your Cd changer and steering wheel controls i'm not sure if you'll be able to get them to work. they may sell some adapters for that but I'll have to look into it. I hope Ranger can chime in here, he knows a lot of stuff about this. you may want to shoot him a PM.
the changer is actually in the radio so i will loose that.dont care about the steering wheel controls too much.the dvd is console mounted and i dont remember seeing a video cable behind the radio when i installed my re-Q.will i have to run a video cable from the dvd in console to the new h/u?thanks for all your help!
the video cable will just be a simple RCA wire, probably just one single one. If there isn't one then it was converted from the overheard screen to the floor somewhere to fit into your stock head unit. It shouldn't be too hard to trace but I guarantee there has to be a video RCA wire. that's the only way you can connect video up. when i had my stock HU for my expedition, i have two headrest monitors for the rear. I can't recall what kind of connection they used but there was not RCA video going to the rear of the unit. the conversion was in the floor near the dash. I wish i could remember but that was a good 3 years ago.
